New construction - built
The winery by its very nature represents an opportunity to work with the most profound archetypes (earth, stone, wood, smell, shade, silence, etc.) and in this sense the project seeks an elementary syntax between a small number of simple and conceptually peremptory architectural elements: the great rock wall is rooted into the ground and becomes a retaining wall for the graded site, and as such the base for the cantilevered roof that defines and unites different spaces with dramatic emphasis, spaces that bring the existing buildings in relation to those of the project and is functionally configured as a large courtyard or covered square for processing the grapes. The large roof that ends in a powerful cantilever approximately 15 metres long frames the hilly skyline and at the same time provides a surface to position the solar and photovoltaic panels that supply power to the winery; the equipment inside was also developed to purify and recycle waste water.
