The project conceives the mausoleum as a private enclosure for meditation and prayer. The tomb, which on the outside appears as a marble monolith interrupted by two vertical slits, one corresponding to the entrance, and the other marking the beginning of the space for the tombs themselves, encloses a small private space. This space, accessed down a short sloping path, is encircled by a filter-wall that, like the roof, is a structure made of metal and decorated glass. Inside the mausoleum, the light enters directly from above, but is perceived as soft and warm, being filtered by the decorated glass of the roof and by the filter-wall. The mausoleum will be built with a concrete structure clad in marble panels (the tomb spaces) and with an outer perimeter of marble blocks laid side by side and stacked.
