Interpreting the building code, the addition was designed to fit in with the architectural characteristics and the traditional local forms of rural housing. More specifically, the direct references may be found in the barn and in the greenhouse buildings. The selected materials are wood for the façades and reused brick for the columns. The connection to the existing building is guaranteed by a covered portico which englobes the existing trees within it to harmonize with the surrounding context and with the traditional architectural concept of juxtaposition over time.
