Treviso
Feasibility Study
The research process, a participated process based on town meetings, integrated into the new mobility plan and open to suggestions arising from the community of citizens, began with the project TREVISO PIAZZE DA VIVERE. The goal was to define the way the city squares were used and what they required in terms of equipment, depending on the type of event to be held and the type of public space. The project began with general considerations on the urban development of the city of Treviso, seeking a horizon of meaning and function to guide future projects for reuse.
The project is the outcome of a series of lectures and encounters with the community in Treviso on behalf of the City Administration, the theme of which was a new vision for the city and its urban development in the light of the City master plan (PAT - Piano di Attuazione Territoriale) for Treviso, currently in the approval process.
The project proposed to connect a selection of existing public spaces inside and outside the city walls (the park belt, the green trails, the green city squares, the market and commercial areas, the historic city piazzas and the parking areas, etc.) in a network that could foster a new and different use of the city and encourage circulation by means other than just automobiles.
