Montebelluna (TV)

interior design - built

The theme of the project was to restyle the small wing of a villa built in the 1920s in the "vernacular Liberty" style typical of the countryside around Treviso. The space, which features a pitched ceiling with wood beams, was conceived as an open space with a mezzanine floor in which each of the elements is clearly visible. The dominant architectural element is the volume housing the fireplace and the upstairs bath. Clad in corten steel, it is surrounded by the other elements, in particular the kitchen and service areas which are gathered under the mezzanine, and the stair leading up to the mezzanine floor which disappears behind the fireplace.

The wood volume of the mezzanine and the Venetian terrazzo floor are light in colour to contrast with the darker roof and bathroom block.
