Exhibition design - built
The collection curated by Alessandro Mendini composed of thirty mirrors, interpreted by thirty artists, graphic designers, architects, sprang from a research study on the theme of the decoration of the object produced industrially in a limited edition. The exhibition design project interpreted this theme by underlining the primary characteristic of the object on display: the multiplication and fragmentation of the image. The lighting relies on bulls-eye spotlights used for the theatre, underlining the effect of alienation produced by the multiplication of the image, and in turn multiplying the rays of light that reflect on the mirrors and on the coloured gels.
